This composer has a delicate sense of a theme's purpose. His work is orchestrated with understated skill, and the conductor targets his intent beautifully.
I heard Lord's work as an introduction to his music in this piece. I am delighted with it, and want to look into his ouvre.

I have been loving classical music for 70 years, being conceived to the music of Delius, being a choralist from age six, and playing oboe for decades. This is the most glorious music I ever expected to hear in this world. I don't order many cds, but this one I'll order today. ~ bonnie brauer

Black Earth is expression The Anatolian people's integration with the land and the nature.
In this work, a poem was inspired for Fazil, that is written by the great Anatolian poet Asik Veysel .
On the one hand to describe people's struggle for life, on the other hand there is an expression grateful for the blessings of the earth .
Below stated stanza , I think will give you an idea
I ripped your stomach with shovel and hoes
I tore your face with tooth and nail
Still you welcomed me with a rose
My faithful lover is Black Earth.

Alla Pavlova - Pavlova: Symphony No. 1 "Farewell Russia" (Russian Philharmonia Orchestra)
|
no words to describe it |
|
I was about to go to sleep that I turned one Adagio.fm and started listening to some classical before calling it the night, and this symphony came on... I was amazed, this is one truly master piece, ups and downs, movements are so amazing, i can't even describe the feeling i got...
it's a tone of joy, while having that sorrow in it... I can really picture and feel living your previous life and moving into a new life, a new era, where everything seems unknown, everything seems so different, and exciting.... exciting would be the word i can describe it for the feeling I got through-out the entire symphony..
a master piece!

Igor Stravinsky - Rhythm Is It!

Le Sacre Du Printemps |

Stravinski for his work:
"The idea of Le Sacre du printemps came to me while I was still composing The Firebird. I had dreamed a scene of pagan ritual in which a chosen sacrificial virgin danced herself to death. This vision was not accompanied by concrete musical ideas, however... "
...
"I saw in imagination a solemn pagan rite: sage elders, seated in a circle, watched a young girl dance herself to death. They were sacrificing her to propriate the god of spring."
...
"...strong and brutal manner, as a point of departure I used the very image evoked by the music. Being a Russian, for me this image took form as the epoch of prehistoric Russia. But bear in mind that the idea came from the music and not the music from the idea."
A great work, performed by the great Berliners.
Enjoy it listening :)
