In 1936, military fascist forces under the command of General Franco, supported by Hitler and Mussolini in Spain, rose against the "People's Front" coalition of the socialists who came to power through the election. Spain was dragged into a bloody, terrible civil war in front of the eyes of the world…
The blind maestro, in 1939, "Concierto de Aranjuez", which he wrote to his wife Victoria (Turkish Pianist Victoria Kamhi) in chapters, described this war.
The concerto voiced the civil war that killed 600 thousand people, the hopeful enthusiasm of the revolutionaries who resisted fascism on the fronts, and the suffering and persecution of the dictator Franco, who took over the administration!
