horizon: Good morning AFM!
Aliquantus: Have a nice weekend folks.
AtticusFinch: At the time we lived about 30 miles closer to the epicenter, so we got a very thorough shaking!
AtticusFinch: The 1989 Loma Prieta eathquake here that caused significant damage in San Francisco registered 6.9 on the moment scale (originally 7.1 on the Richter scale)
horizon: Thank you Aliquantus, the North Anatolian Fault line that runs through Türkiye produces a destructive earthquake of magnitude 7 approximately every 250 years. The last destructive earthquake was in 1792, so these years are very dangerous.
Aliquantus: Horizon, I was reading about the earthquake and the location of that fault line. Bosoton doesn't typically get big quakes, although there was one in New Jersey last year that was felt up here in Boston. Glad you are safe.
horizon: Good morning Aliquantus!

AtticusFinch: We have a similar situation here in California, with the San Andreas fault.
AtticusFinch: Glad to hear y'all are safe!
horizon: Hello AtticusFinch, Thank you for your interest. Thank God, my family and people in Istanbul were not harmed. Unfortunately, this is not the expected big earthquake, the big threat still remains.
AtticusFinch: I hope you were not affected by the earthquake
