Sorry irincou, not sure if I understood you. So if this request gets approved (how ever the government that approves it not sure how it works lol) will it just be one album?
Or can we also add (or is this your point?) the other albums to possibly have almost all of the national anthems. |

As for the price on Amazon download (also on itunes)
the total for all 5 albums is= 44.95

Bold is what I am referring to.
May I ask what do you mean by being suitable? In my opinion national anthems are classical music .
Also if it gets decided to not add, I will totally understand, meaning I will still continue to come here With that being said I did not vote in this |

Yes, some of them are really from the classical period. Officially, all are performed by orchestras, but I am not a fan of these versions. They are just simple and short versions, created specially for formal events... If the case were other, I wouldn`t hesitate to vote yes.
So I prefer to be added more quality music in the PL. I hope you know what I mean.
But we may create a thread in the forum special for the anthems and there everyone will be free to post links with better performances and also info (and different as well) of an anthem or anthems, which would be more intersting, I suppose.
I can write a novel here about that, but prefer to not. Well, I hope no one has left offended or unsatisfied of mine uncompleted answer.

Some national anthems are musically interesting, and let's not forget that some have been composed by famous classical composers. But I believe it wouldn't be a wise idea to add a disc containing anthems; AFM is meant to be neutral -at least that's how i see/feel it- and unfortunately people tend to get overexcited with such matters.
(If you enjoy national anthems I strongly recommend a cd from 1997, i think that the arranger-conductor is the Japanese composer Shin-ichiro Ikebe, to this day it's by far the best work I've ever heard. Some of these arrangements are on Youtube.)

Smithee you do have a point there!! People might get over-enthusiastic about their country's N. Anthem. If only we could listen to that music as music only and nothing more then we could really evaluate its contribution to art! Thanks for posting your opinion!
