Just to put things clear: I don't like opera, but i'm sure it has its place here!

I have put in a thread for youtube opera. Go here to see some: http://adagio.fm/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=45&highlight= _________________ Though everything else may appear shallow and repulsive, even the smallest task in music is so absorbing, and carries us so far away from town, country, earth, and all worldly things, that it is truly a blessed gift of God.

I can take it in small amounts. I'm not sure if i could sit through a whole opera showing. I'd rather hear the music.

Razy, I'm missing your avatar. Here a suggestion:

yeah just wanted to ask this after tens of years, as SST is only instrumental allowed, here opera for sure would make the one or the
other colorful stain, thnx _________________ Quod licet jovi non licet bovi! |

Would pop opera - like Sarah Brightman singing "Phantom of the Opera" be eligible? hm, I guess it qualifies as a soundtrack for a Broadway show, therefore it belongs on the other site. |

Welcome to the AFM forums Tywin!!! We'll have to check with Saffron. You could also post a request in the Request forum. _________________ Though everything else may appear shallow and repulsive, even the smallest task in music is so absorbing, and carries us so far away from town, country, earth, and all worldly things, that it is truly a blessed gift of God.

I wouldn't expect anything less than that from you, Saff!
But really, a classical webradio without opera wouldn't be complete.
Wagner, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Weber, Richard Strauss, Berg... too many great composers whose opera works were defining a whole musical era & genre. |
Very, very good!
Safffron, you have my admirations about the picking.
And, bp, you are absolutely right. I share your opinion! _________________ “Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of woman.”
