I say YES to all except perhaps the PARSIFAL with Knappertsbusch.

Don't get me wrong, he was a wonderful & great conductor, but his tempi were extremely slow at times.
And I'm not sure how good the audio quality of that one would be.

seems like you´re the expert well i believe you. Im only familiar with the "style" of the composers so any good record would be fine.

Parsifal is one of my most beloved operas, so you can be sure that I'm the first one wanting it on this station Smile

I wonder if you should post these individually so the expense would appear so great...

I voted Yes, but maybe if it's too expensive only a part of the suggested albums can be added? Like "Der fliegende Holländer" for example?? Rolling Eyes

As i only discovered AFM last week, i'm a little late for this thread, but.....

The Kna Bayreuth recording available thru Polygram/Philips, that is under consideration, is generally considered, by Wagnerians, to be a SUBLIME performance...Although Kna (as he is affectionately known) conducted many Parsifals, more than any other conductor to date, i believe, only about 10 to 12 performances are available from this late Mastro and this stereo recording from 1962 has a veritable Who's Who of singers in the cast: Hotter, London, Talvela, Stolze, Neidlinger, etc. Hence the Time element is simply not a problem but in fact an added, ethereal dimension....And one may also consider recordings by Karajan, Barenboim, Levine...And if the Time element is a deciding factor, then i recommend the incredible Boulez/Bayreuth recording which just whizzes by and yet still packs a
wallop....
