I read this article and just had to share it. Very interesting insight into the ways that prolonged illness may have forever changed Handel's approach to composition. It's also a thought-provoking meditation on how suffering can actually benefit mankind.

Very interesting! It is true that some of the greatest creations in culture were/are "born" via suffering, pain, loss, death, refuge, war and all kinds of unpleasant feelings.... even unfulfilled love and dreams!
