New to geodata � where should I start?

Hi all,

I�m completely new to the concept of geodata and trying to get a basic understanding of what it actually includes and how it�s used. From what I�ve gathered so far, it seems to involve any kind of data that�s tied to a specific location, but I�d love a clearer explanation.

What are the most common types of geodata, and where is it typically sourced from? Are there standard formats or tools I should know about if I want to start working with it? I�m especially interested in how it�s used in areas like mapping, environmental monitoring, or public planning. I found some great geodata on geopostcodes, what do you think of it?

Any beginner-friendly resources, tools, or examples would be very appreciated. Just trying to find a good entry point.
