Is there going to be opera included in this station? I can put up a poll, but I wouldn't mind opera. In fact, I can think of a couple I would like to have here. |

I'm so intoxicated I first thought you were talking about the Opera browser (a firefox competitor).
Mmm, opera. I'm not a fan, sorry! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

Good to see someone else who enjoys it!
I think opera is definetely some of the most beautiful music humans have ever created.
I'm not a connoisseur but a casual lover of it, and always trying to expand my knowledge of the subject and discover new sounds that leave me amazed. Might have something to do with my italian background too, and being exposed to it as a kid. Took me a while to come around to it, but as an adult I learned to appreciate it.
The link below is the aria that blew me away and got me started.
Un Bel Di (puccini), easily one of my favorite arias. It builds into something so powerful that I always get goosebumps when it culminates.
Fleming does great justice to the piece in my opinion.

Close your eyes and listen to it.
Would be great if adagio.fm had operas available IMO! |

I am not a big opera fan. But from time to time it is nice to hear some opera. So I think I will even request some if it is available.
I do not know if this station will really include Opera. I think we have to wait what the big boss has spoken _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne - The Shawshank Redemption)

I don't like opera. But I like your avatar, weapon. This Rocky-cat is very cool.

WLZ, I'd be curious to see the results of a poll, whether the members think opera should be included here or not.
I enjoy opera music by Puccini, Verdi, and others and think it's fine in moderation. I hope it's allowed here at Adagio. |

Opera will be allowed here. I am going to be rather picky about the singers and recording quality. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. I wouldn't expect anything less than that from you, Saff!
But really, a classical webradio without opera wouldn't be complete.
Wagner, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Weber, Richard Strauss, Berg... too many great composers whose opera works were defining a whole musical era & genre. _________________ "If our music survives, which I have no doubt it will, then it will because it is good!"
