As noted with the Parrott performance of Monteverdi's masterpiece of the Renaissance, there are no recordings of the 1610 Vespers on AFM and my very favorite performance is this one, conducted by the great maestro, Philippe Herreweghe on Harmonia Mundi. It's expensive but worth every penny...this performnce continuously amazes the uninitiated with its sheer ethereal beauty of sound. THIS is a true Desert Island disc.
