|
Starting tomorrow, all opera pieces will be removed from the playlist. In its place we will have a weekly Opera program. We will play one full-length opera every Wednesday at 3:00 pm server time (EST).
For compliance reasons, we cannot announce which opera it will be but I will take requests. Soon I will post a list of the available operas. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Aha... well this is going to be an interesting change.
Especially if you think of the fact that many operas are 3-5 hours long (just think of Richard Wagner or Richard Strauss).
Will this include tracks where for instance suites or ouvertures are played as well? _________________ "If our music survives, which I have no doubt it will, then it will because it is good!"

It will include everything. And yes, there will be some long programs. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Very interesting way of doing that. I look forward to seeing what numbers it brings! _________________ Though everything else may appear shallow and repulsive, even the smallest task in music is so absorbing, and carries us so far away from town, country, earth, and all worldly things, that it is truly a blessed gift of God.

I tried to do a genre search for opera to see which ones we have but it turned up no results... Any way to see which we have? Maybe we could do a vote on which opera to hear? Whaddya think? _________________ Though everything else may appear shallow and repulsive, even the smallest task in music is so absorbing, and carries us so far away from town, country, earth, and all worldly things, that it is truly a blessed gift of God.

The Opera is not searchable. I do plan on getting a more formal list up. We did have Aida, Don Carlo, La Boheme, Il Triticco to name a few. I have more that were never on the playlist. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. That's an interesting idea
I'm not sure if I'll be able to hear any of the opera's (I'm online mostly in the weekends) but I really support the idea |

There will be a revision to the opera program due to song length.
Starting today, we will be playing each opera by act. So most Operas will take three weeks to play in its entirety some will take more.
I apologize to the opera fans but it is another level compromise I need to make. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Well, do to the overwhelming appreciation of not having an Opera Wednesday, I am officially canceling it today.
I will miss the small group that enjoyed it. It was fun. But overall, it doesn't fit in with the overall theme of Adagio. There are some choral works that fit. I will be adding those back in over time.
Perhaps Haino will share with us the links of the Opera stations he and the others are listening to. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music.
