|
Does anyone have a favorite keyboard, string, wind, brass, or other instrument player they love to hear? Their performances can be with or without the orchestra.
I have a hard time choosing any one soloist since I like lots of different ones.
I've been amazed by Jascha Heifetz's technical abilities on the violin. He could really hit those high, heartbreaking notes. I also like Oscar Shumsky's warm and straightforward violin playing.
Lately, I have been enamored of Nelson Freire on the piano despite his speed and flubbed notes because sometimes his music is simply lovely. He has a very natural, smooth way of speeding up and slowing down that I wish I could emulate. |

Joshua Bell. He's from the same place I am and I have heard him play at our auditorium and he's marvelous. |

even the smallest task in music is so absorbing, and carries us so far away from town, country, earth, and all worldly things, that it is truly a blessed gift of God. ????

SANDRO FRIEDRICH
Swiss flute player with an extensive knowledge, collection and craftsmanship on ethnic flutes.
Plays all kind of genres from pop, world music to classic.
Became friends with him after his amazing performance during the Krakow Filmmusic Festival.
He is now touring with Andreas Vollenweider and the German Folkband Santiano |

On piano I found a new idol:
IVO POGORELICH
Croatian enfant-terrible who from his youthly appearance at the Chopin festival has been jubelized and criticized as well.
His rebellious approach of classic piano works you either detest or admire.
I'm in the last category. |

IGOR POGOROLICH ...love him or hate him just as GLENN GOULD. I love both!!! I think they have similarities in their idiosyncratic performance. _________________ The secret of not having worries, is to have ideas.
